The Roots, Hillside

Every time I walk into The Roots I look for Mateo. The guy actually understands what he is talking about. Not just “this one is sativa and this one is indica,” but the terpene profiles, the medical effects, and how everything interacts depending on what you need. Most people his age are not even close to that level. He talks to you like a real person, breaks things down without making it complicated, and he genuinely cares about getting you the right product instead of just pushing whatever is popular. Whether I need something for focus, sleep, or just to relax, he dials it in instantly. If you want someone who actually knows the science and can point you in the right direction every time, go to Mateo. He is the real deal. Highly recommend.

Great people, great bud

I'm just in town visiting some family, and these guys just happened to be the closest one to where I was staying. That being said, they're so fantastic it makes me sad I don't live around here. The building is clean and open, well lit and everything. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They had no problem sitting and chit chatting with me about Alaska and fun stuff to do around here. They only stopped because other customers came in, which they should. Also, daily $5 pre rolls. Are you kidding me?? They're a minimum of $20 back home.

Best place to shop in anchorage by far!

I started going here every few days for a pick me up and today my car decided to up and die on me while I was shopping here, the employees were very respectful, understanding and very charismatic which helped me be less stressed about having to leave my pos car in their lot(for two hours even though that was a spot a present customer could’ve occupied) I genuinely enjoy going here and their weed is phenomenal, I didn’t catch anyone’s names but to the guy in the flannel&grey shirt and to the guy who had the black and red hoodie with a labret piercing thank you both very much for your help getting it out of your lot
