Buyer Beware - Unregulated Products Pose Health Risks While Hemptender technically sells legal hemp products, I feel compelled to warn fellow customers about serious safety concerns with their delta-8 THC offerings. The Problem: These products exist in a legal gray area with ZERO regulatory oversight. Many of their delta-8 concentrates come from third-party manufacturers that don’t have to meet any safety or compliance standards. What This Means for You: - No testing for heavy metals (including lead) - No screening for illegal pesticides - No quality control or contamination checks - Unknown manufacturing processes and ingredients Why This Matters: You could be ingesting dangerous substances without knowing it. Even in REGULATED cannabis markets like California and Maryland, products have been found contaminated with heavy metals and illegal pesticides. Imagine the risks with completely unregulated products. My Recommendation: Support NC’s fight for proper cannabis legalization, but please avoid these delta-8 products until there’s proper regulation and testing. Your health isn’t worth the risk of consuming potentially contaminated concentrates from sketchy manufacturers. To Hemptender: Please consider only sourcing from manufacturers who voluntarily conduct third-party lab testing and can provide certificates of analysis for heavy metals, pesticides, and solvents. The staff is very knowledgeable and I know most of them by name. I'd say that this store is a hidden gem in this part of Durham. If I could give 6 stars, I would!
